Russian Helicopters says it intends to commence Kamov Ka-62 helicopter certification trials early in 2018.
The trials are to be completed within two years, following which the type will be available for commercial use.
Progress Aresenyev Aviation Company has now produced two flight test Ka-62s, the first of which flew in May 2017.
The Ka-62 helicopter has already performed the first circuit-circling at 110km/h for 15 minutes, and tests have been carried out into its overall operating performance, main energy supply systems, airborne equipment and power unit.
The second flight test aircraft is being shown at this week’s Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. A third example is scheduled for development in 2018.
The Ka-62 is designed for commercial roles including passenger and cargo transport, offshore work, emergency medical services, search and rescue, patrolling and environmental monitoring.
