Airbus, European defence agency OCCAR and the A400M customer nations have signed a declaration of intent (DOI) to work on a revamped delivery plan and a “roadmap for the development and completion of military capabilities” for the European airlifter.

Airbus said the DOI “provides a new baseline on which to evaluate the A400M contract”.

Tom Enders, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, said this would provide “a good chance to stop or at least reduce” losses for Airbus as prime contractor and “deliver the capabilities our customers need”.
