MRJ FTA2 arrives at Grant County

The second Mitsubishi Regional Jet flight test aircraft (FTA-2), has arrived at Grant County International Airport in Washington.

The jet landed at Grant County at 16:30hrs local on December 19 following a six-day series of flights spanning 20 hours and ten minutes from Nagoya in Japan via Guam, the Marshall Islands, Hawaii and San Jose.

FTA-2 joins the first and fourth Mitsubishi Regional Jet test aircraft, respectively FTA-1 and FTA-4, at Grant County.

From there, the three aircraft will undertake the next stages in the Mitsubishi Regional Jet’s flight testing and certification activities from a purpose-built flight testing facility, the Moses Lake Flight Test Centre.

A fourth MRJ flight test aircraft (FTA-3) will also head to Grant County. The fifth flight test aircraft, FTA-5, painted in the colours of launch operator All Nippon Airways, will remain in Japan.
