FOLLOWING CERTIFICATION of its Global 7500 business jet by the US Federal Aviation Administration in November 2018, Bombardier announced on February 7, 2019, that it has also been certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The aircraft had initially received Transport Canada Certification in September 2018, only two years after the maiden flight of the first aircraft (c/n FTV1).

The Global 7500 entered service in December 2018.

The granting of EASA certification now clears the way for the aircraft to be registered in a country within the European Union (EU).

Michel Ouellette, Senior Vice President, Programme Management and Engineering for Bombardier Business Aircraft, said: “Bombardier is proud to announce that the industry flagship business jet, the Global 7500 aircraft, has received EASA certification, validating the requirement for the aircraft’s operation in Europe.”
