The US Department of Defense has contracted Akima Logistics Services to provide logistics support for the US Air Force’s (USAF’s) Learjet C-21A VIP transport fleet.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract – worth US$385m – provides for the programme’s management, aircraft base and depot maintenance, along with modifications, engine maintenance and deployment support for the C-21A.
The contract is expected to be completed by August 31, 2030 – with work mostly being performed at Scott Air Force Base (AFB), Illinois; Joint-Base Andrews, Maryland; and, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Work will also take place at other domestic and overseas locations as per mission requirements.
