Rohde & Schwarz working with Australia’s air traffic control

Rohde & Schwarz Australia, in partnership with L3Harris, will provide system design services for the integration of the latest generation of voice-over-IP VHF air traffic control (ATC) radios, the R&S Series5200, for Airservices Australia’s ATC network.

“The R&S Series5200 provides excellent RF performance and IP based architecture for todays and tomorrow’s ATC communications, for both VHF and UHF frequency bands,” said Marius Münstermann, Vice President Market Segment ATC at Rohde & Schwarz.  “The innovative security-by-design architecture will enable a seamless transition to new IP networks.”

Rohde & Schwarz Australia is undertaking the initial planning and design phase for the modernization of the VHF network with its latest remote control and monitoring system. It will also plan for a radio frequency interference monitoring and investigation capability.
