L3Harris Technologies and Air Tractor team up for Sky Warden ISR platform

L3Harris Technologies and Air Tractor have teamed up to produce the AT-802U Sky Warden aircraft to fulfil a range of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions while operating in austere environments.

Sky Warden is based on the Air Tractor AT-802, featuring L3Harris’ family of communications, sensors and airborne ISR solutions and is supported by the company’s experience in turnkey solutions.

In a May 6 release L3Harris Technologies stated the multi-mission platform will provide an operator the ability to identify, track and react to counter threats, merging the capabilities of larger ISR platforms onto a platform able to operate from unimproved airstrips. This capability makes it particularly suitable for special mission operators.

“Our mission systems, platforms, direct operators and sustainment teams have supported more than 1.3 million combat hours of special operations ISR and attack missions in the past 10 years,” said Luke Savoie, president of aviation services at L3Harris. “Combining that experience with Air Tractor, one of the largest turboprop aircraft OEMs in the world, enables our team to design and provide a mature platform capable of operating anywhere in the world and provides the tools needed to support any mission.”
